Your editorial on July 24 did a great disservice to Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe.
asking for legal advice regarding limiting public gatherings (political or otherwise) at the Veteran's
Memorial Monument was in response to a request made by the Veteran's
Memorial Committee at the July council meeting.
It was not his
idea nor did he
"coax" council members to concur.
And in response to Eleanor Guerriero's Vent that same day, I am not embarrassed by Mr. DiGuiseppe
and the Borough Council

Would Mr. DiGuiseppe
have promised to have the solicitor look into it?
By making that promise he
was signaling at least tentative concurrence with a blatantly unconstitutional request, that should have been discarded out of hand.
