Dr. Rajul Patel, Doctor of Interventional Cardiology for Phoenix Heart, pursued his medical education at Calcutta Medical College in Calcutta, India, before completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where he also underwent fellowship training in Cardiology.
Dr. Patel served as Chief of Cardiology at Maricopa Medical Center where he established and directed the hospital's first Lipid Clinic. He was Director of the Non-Invasive Department at Maricopa Medical Center, and he is responsible for establishing the CHF Home Health Care program. He also currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Medical Center.
Dr. Patel has lectured extensively on topics ranging from cholesterol management to regression trials in CAD. He has developed areas of specialty around diabetes and acute myocardial infarction, and he has published several papers, reviews and studies on a wide variety of cardiology topics. His study, "Coronary Artery Disease in Cocaine Abusers with Chest Pain at a Public Hospital: A Review," won First Prize when presented at the American College of Physicians. He has been the Principal or Co-Investigator in 15 clinical studies developing new therapies and techniques, and continues his research as the Principal Investigator in an additional 35 ongoing protocols.
