Raivo Vare (b. 1958), is a former Estonian Minister of State as well as former Minister of Transport and Communications.
He is now the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Estonian Development Fund.
He is a businessman and business consultant
Mr. Vare has been an owner in the Live Nature OÜ and a partner in Sthenos Group (investments), a consultant and partner in the OÜ RVVE Group (advisory), and a co-trainer of Invicta Ltd. (training and consultancy) in Tallinn.
Previously he served as Development Director and Member of the Management Board of Estonian Railways Ltd. (2004-07), Chief Executive Officer of the regional largest transit company Pakterminal Ltd. (1999-2003), Minister of Transport and Communications of the Estonian Republic (1996-99), and a Director and Member of the Management Board of the Bank of Tallinn (1992-96).
As Minister of State of the Estonian Republic
was engaged in administrative reform, security and military, state bureaucracy, legislative and numerous other affairs during the regaining of Estonian independence.
Currently he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Estonian Development Fund (the Parliament's think-tank and risk investment fund formed under special law), a Member of the President's Academic Advisory Board and a Member of the Curatorium (Council) of the Tartu University.
