On April 19, Jefferson Academic Center Teacher Rachel McNaughton and curriculum teacher Ann Katsaros set up the stations for the 8th grade Science Performance Test at North Country Learning Center.Ms. McNaughton explained the various components of the Performance Test, how to set up the three stations, the equipment needed for the experiments, and the format of the test booklets.A discussion of testing accommodations was also conducted.Students from the North County Learning Center were given test directions and moved from one station to the next in order to conduct their experiments and record their answers in the test booklets. The students were actively engaged in the hands-on performance test and fully cooperated with their teachers. When the Performance Test was completed, Ms. McNaughton reviewed the scoring directions for the assessment. She then reviewed the students' answers with the teachers and discussed acceptable responses for each of the questions along with a description of responses earning partial credit.
