Mr. Sylvan Amegashie is recognized as one of the pre-eminent business figures in Africa, with over thirty years of general management, professional and public service experience in Africa.Following his education and Accounting training in England, Mr. Amegashie became the first Ghanaian Chartered Accountant in the country of Ghana in 1955.While running a successful accounting practice, he also taught accounting at the University of Science & Technology in Ghana.In 1963, Mr. Amegashie was appointed Minister of Industry for Ghana.During this ministerial appointment, he helped structure a record number of joint ventures between Ghanaian companies and foreign companies, including the historical Lohnro Corporation/Ashanti Goldfields joint venture.He has served as the Africa representative for large U.S. companies such as McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation.Mr. Amegashie's broad general management scope of responsibilities included directing the operations, marketing, financial management and growth of these successful companies: Sydals Corporation, Tropical Glass Ltd., and Tropical Metallic Comb Corporation.
