Preston James IV, JD/MBA
was born and raised in Harlem, N.Y.He attended Emporia State University, where he was a former athlete.
While at Emporia he
first client (athlete) as an undergraduate.He received his Bachelors degree in Communication in 1996. Preston attended the University of Kansas School of Law and the School of Business where he received his Juris Doctorate (Law) and Masters in Business Administration degrees in May, 2000. At the University of Kansas, Preston founded the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, and in conjunction with 3 other individuals at California law schools, he co-founded the National Entertainment & Sports Law Society (NESLS).In the NESLS, Preston has served in the capacity of Vice President of Sports and as the National President. While pursuing his Masters degree in Business, Preston represented the University of Kansas at the National Black MBA Association Conference Case Competition. Preston is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity where he has held offices on local and district levels, and has recently served on the Supreme Council (National board of directors). His community service involvement is vast but most of his work is with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, where he has served on the Douglas County (Kansas) Board of Directors, as well as the Partnership with Youth committee chairman and he is a BB/BS volunteer.He
is also involved with charitable activities for the Boys & Girls Club.Additionally, Preston set up a mentoring program with a local grade school in Lawrence, Kansas and has been a mentor for children at Windcrest Elementary School
in San Antonio, Texas. His
professional organization involvement is with the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association

Some of the honors he
has received have been district Omega Man of the Year (Twice), Who's Who Among American Law Students (Twice) , and Outstanding Young Men of America. Preston
is happily married to Mrs. Lori James.
