The State's very attitude of ignorance and aloofness towards atrocities committed against Dalits, and its lenient and prejudiced policy of not taking action against perpetrators of these atrocities is nothing but fulfill its responsibility to promote, protect and enforce the rights of Dalits has prompted us to undertake an initiative called Centre for Dalit Rights,(CDR) in Rajasthan.
Although the centre plans to reach out to dalit population and dalit right activists all over North India, in its initial years it will focus on the state of Rajasthan
We hope and believe that the present report will serve the purpose of Dalit Women worse Situation in Rajasthan
A direct allegation has been made by the Dalit community that Amra Ram, The member of Legislative Assembly
and now a Minister of State for Home
is extending helping hand indirectly to the perpetrators and influencing Local Police oppressing the Dalit's and Dalit Activist.
...Amra Ram Chodhary, Ms. Kiran Soni, Divisional Commissioner, Mr. Ravindra Kumar Reddy ,Inspector General of Police, zDistrict Collector Barmer, Superintend of Police Barmer ,Director General of Police Rajasthan, Chief Minister Rajasthan, Director General of Police Rajasthan with a request to redress the grievances of Dalits of Halia village.
1. On 15-3-07 Police
inspected the place of incident and took statement of the victim and witnesses.Police
called Revenue record and called Matko to produce relevant Document regarding continuous possession over the land.
...President of Panchyat Samiti, Shergarh, Distt- Jodhpur was Physically prevented, humiliated to airborne the National flag & abused in the name of caste by Mr. Babu Singh Rathore the Member of legislative Assembly, Rajasthan, mainly on account of social origin.
Registrar , National Human Right Commission
forwarded this matter to the State Human Rights Commission
for appropriate action.
4. The case is pending with the High Court of Rajasthan
(DBCR Petition No 127/07).
5. The Perpetrators have been issued with a bailable warrant by the Hon'ble High Court.
Not only Dominant caste villagers but Police
do treat them as substandard.
On 31st July 07 Delegation met to Ms. Prashakha Mathur, Superintend
, Pali and requested for the appropriate action for providing Safety, Security of the Laxmi and fair deal in the case.
