Philip J. Katauskas
Biography: Mr. Katauskas graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy in 1968 and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.
After serving six years as a Naval Flight Officer, he left active duty and entered the Villanova University School of Law.
He was an Articles Editor on the Law Review and graduated with honors in 1977.
After two years of clerking for then-Associate Justice Robert N. C. Nix, Jr. of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court
, Mr. Katauskas
went into private practice as a civil litigator.
Until August 2005, he was a litigation partner at a major Philadelphia law firm.
In August 2005, Mr. Katauskas joined Semanoff Ormsby Greenberg & Torchia, LLC as Counsel to add his litigation experience to the firm's already impressive litigation practice.
practice concentrates on complex commercial, environmental and products liability cases.
commercial litigation practice includes trade secrets, patent license, computer software and Internet cases.
environmental practice includes litigation and counseling under Federal and Pennsylvania environmental statutes.
has also represented equipment manufacturers and medical device manufacturers in products liability cases.
has written and lectured on litigation, environmental and insurance coverage issues.
Mr. Katauskas serves as Chairman of the Board of the Philadelphia Chapter of the United State Naval Academy Alumni Association and as First Vice President of the Philadelphia Council of the U.S. Navy League.
He is a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee of Nether Providence Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
