Dr. Wilson has and over thirty years experience in industrial technology management. He has served in a variety of management and executive technical positions including Chief Technologist for Magna International Inc. He also served for over ten years as Vice President of Technology for the Textron Automotive Company, and over twelve years with General Electric ending as Manager of Technology Applications at the GE Plastics Applications Center.
He is the winner of the 1985 SPE International Unique and Useful Industrial Product Award. The development teams Phil lead won four SPE Automotive Division's Most Innovative New Material or Process Awards and an American Product Excellence Award. He is himself a veteran and prolific inventor of over fifty issued or pending patents on polymer materials, processes and applications. Ten of his most recent patents are related to Nano-Composite Polymer systems, their unique processing capabilities and product applications.
Phil formed his own engineering innovation and creative problem solving consulting firm, Inspired Innovations, and serves as its President. The firm assists its clientele with their material and process selections; the optimization of existing manufacturing processes and products; and to efficiently develop new materials systems, manufacturing processes and products. Dr. Wilson also co-authored "Nano-Composite Market Opportunities" published by Bins & Associates.
Phil earned BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University and a Ph.D. in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and a Senior Member of the Society of Plastics Engineers. He is mentioned in numerous versions of Who's Who; the International, the Sterling's, the Science & Technology, and the Chemistry & Physics versions. He is a US citizen and resides in Ohio.

Phil is a member of the ISIS Business & Technology Advisory Board with extensive experience in polymer systems development and fabrication. Over the span of his 30+ career he has focused on the management and development of products and systems for the global automotive industry and development and commercialization of nano-composite polymers and other material systems. Overall, Phil is a leading expert in development of new materials systems, new applications for polymers, new manufacturing processes and new products for a wide range of industries.
Prior to his current engineering and innovation consulting activities, focused mainly in the area of nano-composites, Phil was the Chief Technologist for Magna International, Inc., one of the leading Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive industry, where his technology management responsibilities extended to 80 plants in nine countries. Earlier, Phil was the Vice President of Textron's Automotive Division, another leading Tier 1 for Automotive OEMs, with responsibility for 125 scientists, engineers and technicians serving seven divisions with thirty-three plants in four countries. Under his watch, Textron Automotive obtained 250 new patents with another 180 pending. Phil began his career with GE Plastics where he grew to Manager of Technology Applications overseeing development of new materials systems, manufacturing processes and products for up to forty-seven different GE businesses.
Phil is the inventor of forty-four issued and several pending patents on polymeric materials, manufacturing processes and products. He has authored nearly 150 technical publications or presentations and has won numerous company and industry achievement awards.
He authored Inspired Innovations -- A Guide to Highly Efficient New Product Development ; co-authored Nano-Composite Market Opportunities ; and authored Nano-Composites -- A Guide to Profiting from the Application of this Emerging New Technology .
Phil earned B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University with a focus on tailoring the properties of polymers by modifying their processing; and earned his Ph.D. in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University. He is married with three adult children and a citizen of the United States.
