Congratulations to Philip Horowitz of West Bloomfield who will be inducted into the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame on Monday, Nov. 1 at Congregation Shaarey Zedek.Horowitz has the honor of bowling two 300 games in the ABC Tournament (1998 and 2004) becoming only the third bowler to records such a feat among 10 sanctioned perfect games.He also has six gold medals in singles competition and five gold medals in doubles competition in the Michigan Senior Olympics.In United States Senior Sports Olympics he has achieved two gold medals in singles and one gold medal in doubles.On the world stage he was a member of the winning team in the 15th Maccabiah World Games in 1997 and in 1999 was the player-coach for a 9th Maccabiah Pan American Games where his team won the gold medal and he won a gold medal in doubles and a bronze medal in the triples event.
