ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA, November 6, 2008 - The Accepted Practices Exchange, a program of the Convention Industry Council (CIC), announces the appointment of their newest Commissioners, Teri Tonioli, CMP of Experient and Phil Cavanagh of Staples.
Cavanagh leads the events team at Staples, Inc., the world's largest office products company which serves businesses of all sizes and consumers in 27 countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Cavanagh joined Staples in 2004.
Prior to that, he headed the events teams at AOL Time Warner and America Online for 4 years after a 15-year career on both the property and corporate level at Marriott International.

Cavanagh is a member of MPI recently completing a term on the New England chapter's Board of Directors.
Prior to joining the APEX Commission, Cavanagh was an avid supporter of APEX.
