Phil Barnett consults with clients in projects focused on intellectual property risk issues and effective
enterprise knowledge management (KM). He works both domestically and internationally, designing and developing high impact organizations and processes that help companies grow customer impact and revenue. Phil has delivered successful projects in a wide range of sectors including professional/legal services, education, healthcare, consumer products, automotive, chemicals, oil & gas, government and non-profits.
Phil's passion for professional development of people has lead him to a number of roles with a focus on education. Phil served the Licensing Executive Society - USA and Canada as Vice President of Education and Vice President for Local Chapters. For LES, he led a Board-chartered, multi-year design team of LES member volunteers (attorneys and commercial development professionals) who created the global Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) program. He is current Mentor Coordinator for the 2013 Licensing Foundation Graduate Student Business Plan Competition and is active in the development and delivery of professional education content with a focus on the business aspects of intellectual property and enterprise knowledge. Phil is also a 2013 member of The World’s Leading IP Strategists (IAM300) selected by IAM Magazine.

The second day will begin with a presentation on establishing tangible value for Knowledge Management by Phil Barnett, Managing Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Tampa.Phil is responsible for establishing the PwC Knowledge Services Organization.He will also host a round table discussion with area executives on the topic.
Howitt, a founder member of the league in 1995 in conjunction with fellow former secretary and one-time GFA president Peter McPherson, explained: "Phil Barnett stepped down as chairman around February time and our referee secretary Martin Peters offered to take it on until the end of the season.
"Phil is a former GFA Under-18 representative manager and was a manager with St Nicholas and our own rep team.

BarnettVice President, EducationPhil is a former Vice President of Education for the LES (USA & Canada), and is past-Chair of the Energy/Chemicals/Materials Committee.He also served as project leader for the development and launch of the Certified Licensing Professional Program.Currently, Phil is Managing Director for Intellectual Property Management, Risk Research, and Strategic Projects in the Knowledge Services Organization (KSO) of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.He has worked most recently to implement new knowledge management business processes inside PwC that drive high performance in professional client services.
He is especially focused on performance measures for the key areas of IP value, professional education, methodology evolution, and recognition and reward that link specifically to client satisfaction and brand recognition.
Phil also serves PwC clients globally, helping them improve performance and competitiveness in the areas of intellectual asset management and knowledge management.
Phil began his career in research at The Dow Chemical Company, where working with an innovative team of business, technical, and legal professionals, he helped pioneer and commercialize a number of new knowledge management methods applied to intellectual property, new product development, and licensing.Phil joined PwC as Director in the Intellectual Asset Management Practice of Financial Advisory Services in Chicago, and has worked in client service on a number of domestic and international projects for Tax, Assurance, and Advisory Services.He earned Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Stephen F. Austin University, Texas.
