Prior to joining PETRONAS GTS, Ir.
Mohd Nizam Ab Wahab in 1993 - 97 has worked for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn.
Bhd, in Kerteh, Terengganu (an upstream operating subsidiary) as a Turbomachinery Engineer where he was primarily involved in gas turbines and gas compressors condition based monitoring (CBM) data analysis/diagnosis and troubleshooting, overhaul, repair and refurbishment works, re-commissioning and hands-on activities on offshore platforms located at Peninsula Malaysia South China Sea.
In 1998, he transferred to PETRONAS Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn.
Bhd. in Sg.
Udang, Melaka as Rotating Equipment Engineer/Plant Division during PETRONAS Second Refinery-2 (PSR-2) project construction phase.
In 2003 - 05, he was assigned to the Cogeneration Project (125MW) as Senior Mechanical Engineer leading the design, engineering, procurement and novation of Gas and Steam Turbines Generator Package.
In 2005, he was appointed as Rotating Equipment Staff Engineer where he is responsible to the all refinery rotating equipments related matters (inclusive of inhouse plant modification/upgrading projects, MG3 Lube Oil project, PSR-2 Revamp and Coker Expansion projects) and also technical supports to the other PETRONAS Operating Units plant issues upon request.
Prior to joining Petronas, has also worked in ExxonMobil as well as in Brown & Root as Mechanical Design Engineer.
By disciple is a Mechanical Engineer graduating from Plymouth University
, UK and is a Council Member of the Institute of Materials, Malaysia
He has also completed INSEAD management course and has attended several Harvard and Stanford leadership short courses.
has presented a few papers in overseas including the latest being in the 2007 World Oil Summit in London.
