Read More Peter Watson was born and raised in Tasmania and spends all his free time fishing the local "secret" fishing spots. His Father was a commercial fisherman who engendered a love for recreational fishing in Peter. Every school holidays Peter's parents would pack his five siblings into the car with the boat in tow and the family would spend days fishing at Bruny Island and on the Tasmania Hydro Water Scheme waters. Some of Peter's fondest childhood memories are centred on fishing. As a youngster Peter was drawn into fly fishing by the visual appeal of the cast and has now been guiding on Tasmanian waters since 2007 and is experienced in all aspects of fresh and salt water fly fishing. Peter has a passion for introducing the craft of fly fishing to beginners and refining the skills of experienced anglers. He believes anyone can enjoy fishing, whether you are 5 or 105. Peter has a passion for assisting people to develop their skills, or to acquire new ones and as a guide, he is extremely patient and knowledgeable taking time to pass on his vast experience and local knowledge to all that want to learn. He is a guide with true passion for teaching and has taught many fly anglers each year how to cast efficiently and catch fish. Peter enjoys the tranquility of the river surrounds and the challenge of teaching the tactics of stealth and approach from his years of experience in the hunt for that elusive trophy trout. When he is not stalking fish, Peter ties his own flies and has developed instructional videos on fly tying for the general public. Peter ties both traditional flies and tweaks fly designs to suit local fishing conditions. The majority of Peter's flies are tied using natural Tasmanian materials. Peter is a member of the Devonport Fly Fishing Club and has spent time at the annual Bronte Fly Fishing camp as an instructor."
