was based in Hong Kong as VP Asia Pacific.
During this tenure Scholten implemented an aggressive growth strategy for Hong Kong and China.

initiated Kencargo Airlines

In 2004 Kencargo
was renamed to Kenya Airways Cargo.
Scholten began his career in Martinair as VP Europe & Africa in 1996, based in Schiphol Airport.
During this tenure he
built the European sales organisation covering 20 countries.
In Africa Scholten
opened a regional head office in Nairobi from where carrier became the market leader in Kenya and Zimbabwe.
In the period 1992-1996 Scholten was Managing Director of Road Air Flora a leading freight forwarder in the perishable market in the Netherlands.
