Founder and CEO
Peter is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of JAM International. Peter began his career with his father in the family construction company, gaining invaluable knowledge in the business and expanding his expertise in different trades. He then purchased land in the Eastern Low-veld of South Africa in order to fulfill one of his dreams of farming tobacco. Within three years of operating, Peter won the Golden Leaf Award for the highest yield per hectare in that region. Peter's involvement in Christian outreach crusades steered him to becoming involved in humanitarian aid work, which led him to the fateful experience in 1984 when he was left stranded at a relief and food distribution center for 10 days with no food and very little water. Being exposed to extreme hunger, poverty and death at a place that was supposed to provide relief, Peter and his wife, Ann, made the decision to dedicate their lives to alleviate the suffering of the poor, thus Joint Aid Management was established.
In December 1979, Ann Pretorius, the wife of a once affluent tobacco farmer, Peter Pretorius, made a choice that would have a profound influence on the rest of her life.
Ann and her husband, Peter, accepted Jesus as Lord 3 weeks after her father-in-law received his miraculous healing.
After co-founding Jesus Alive Ministries, a gospel outreach ministry based in Johannesburg, South Africa with Peter, they went on to establish Joint Aid Management.
