Board members like Peter Meyer have demonstrated true dedication to the park and its visitors by supporting programming for tens of thousands of park visitors. "Thank you to our honorees Peter Meyer and TD Bank, and Paul Goodman and William Wachtel of the East River Ferry, and thank you to all our supporters who help the Conservancy bring movies, fitness, boating, theater, education programs - and this year swimming - to Brooklyn Bridge Park." As president of the New York City market, Peter Meyer is responsible for commercial and consumer lending and retail branch operations for TD Bank. Meyer joined Commerce Bank in 2002 to execute the bank's aggressive expansion into the Brooklyn/Queens market. When TD acquired Commerce, Meyer assumed his current role and oversees 75 branches as well as numerous lending groups throughout the five New York boroughs. A graduate of St. Joseph's College, Meyer earned an MBA from Long Island University. Active in the community, he has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit and civic organizations over the years, and is currently chair of the finance committee of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, vice president of Queens Museum, board member of York College, director of Greater Jamaica Development Corp., board member of St. Joseph College, the Flushing Willets Point Corona LDC and The American Cancer Society.
