Nina Collins, Steven Eisenstadt, and Peter Meyer
BROOKLYN, June 24, 2009 - The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy today announced the election of Nina Collins, Steven Eisenstadt, and Peter Meyer to the organization's Board of Directors.
As president of the New York City market, Peter Meyer is responsible for commercial and consumer lending and retail branch operations for TD Bank. Meyer joined Commerce Bank in 2002 to execute the bank's aggressive expansion into the Brooklyn/Queens market. When TD acquired Commerce, Meyer assumed his current role and oversees 75 branches as well as numerous lending groups throughout the five New York boroughs.
A graduate of St. Joseph's College, Meyer earned an MBA from Long Island University. Active in the community, he has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit and civic organizations over the years, and is currently chair of the finance committee of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, vice president of Queens Museum, board member of York College, director of Greater Jamaica Development Corp., board member of St. Joseph College, the Flushing Willets Point Corona LDC and The American Cancer Society. Meyer grew up in Woodhaven, Queens, and now resides in Brooklyn Heights.
"Nina, Steven, and Peter will bring wide-ranging interests, keen insights, and unique expertise to the board during these exciting next few years for Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Conservancy."
"The past decade has been one of tremendous growth and recognition for Brooklyn," said Peter Meyer. We've seen a great many important projects undertaken but probably none as bold and overdue as the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
