Peter Maple, London South Bank University (External Relations and SG representative on VSR editorial board)
Peter is conducting research at London South Bank University entitled "The Nature of Philanthropy" looking at the motivations of regular charity givers.
He also teaches charity leadership, governance and management at LSBU and Marketing & Fundraising at St Mary's University.
Professional and voluntary work in the sector includes 25 years of senior fundraising and communications positions with organisations from Arthritis Care and Leonard Cheshire Disability to The Brooke Hospital and Crisis UK.
He is currently VSSN steering group representative on the VSR journal editorial board.
Previous trustee positions include: Institute of Fundraising, Working Families, Cranfield Trust and Hillcroft College.

Background: After twenty years as a successful fundraiser, fundraising manager and fundraising director in a variety of charities including the YMCA, Arthritis Care, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Brooke Hospital and Crisis UK, Peter Maple entered academia in 2006 teaching fundraising on the postgraduate programs, as well as researching the nature of philanthropy.
Currently course director and senior lecturer at London Southbank University.

Peter Maple is director of charity fundraising courses at London South Bank University and author of Marketing Strategy for Effective Fundraising, published this month by the Directory of Social Change in May.
