Gurfein has joined the firm as a partner in the financial restructuring practice group in Los Angeles.He joins the firm from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, where he was the head of its Los Angeles restructuring group. has vast experience representing creditors, debtors and committees in Chapter 11 cases.He
advises institutional clients with respect to lending in highly regulated fields, including energy and telecommunications, and provides counseling for structuring transactions and loan workouts outside of bankruptcy.He
also advises clients on matters involving bankruptcy implications relating to aircraft financing, intellectual property licenses and agreements, and the acquisition of assets from a bankrupt's estate.He
has recently been involved in insurance company liquidation proceedings and in numerous health care bankruptcies on behalf of health plans, providers and management companies.
