Petal Miller-Ashmole trained in Australia and danced professionally with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Canada, PACT Ballet, Johannesburg before joining Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet from 1975 to 1986.

In 2000 Petal Miller-Ashmole joined The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge, as Classical Ballet Teacher and in 2005 she was appointed to the position of 3rd Year Graduate Teacher at The Royal Ballet School, Upper School, Covent Garden.

Ms Miller-Ashmole returned to Australia and joined The Australian Ballet School's full-time staff in 2012.
