Mrs. Zausner loves working with children.
She taught Playing it Safe, a child safety program sponsored by the Nassau District Attorney's Office; she once served as the assistant director of the Police Athletic League; she has coached in youth soccer leagues; and when a curfew was put in place on Halloween she organized a community Halloween party for 1,500 kids at the high school because she felt no child should grow up without Halloween.
Mrs. Zausner has always been troubled by injustice so she became involved in politics, and was elected a Democratic Committeewoman in 1987.

When she felt her village was unresponsive to the needs of its resident she formed the Port North Civic Association, and eventually became President of the General Council of Homeowners, encompassing all the civic associations.
This has allowed her
to work closely with Supervisor Kaiman and other officials in the Town of North Hempstead, as well as Nassau County and New York State.
Additionally, Mrs. Zausner serves on the boards of Community Chest and Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington.

has aggressively fought back and has been cancer-free for the past three years.
Never wanting anyone else to go through what she

Mrs. Zausner has served on the Board of Directors at Vincent Smith School for close to a decade in various positions including treasurer.
