Peggy Shorr, LCSW, is the Senior Trainer and Consultant for the Center for Urban Community Services' Housing Resource Center.
For the past 17 years Ms. Shorr
has provided training on a wide variety of topics relevant to working with homeless and formerly homeless individuals and families.
In addition to providing training and technical assistance to the staff of supportive housing programs, Ms. Shorr
also oversees the writing of new curricula and supervises and develops HRC trainers.

, Cultural Competency
, Community Building
, Effective Counseling Skills and the use of Evidence Based Practice.
frequently presents at conferences on these and other topics.
In addition to managing the training department and developing new training workshops, she
continues to expand the CUCS client base by reaching out to other human service organizations.
Ms. Shorr has had extensive experience in the delivery and administration of a range of human service programs including supervisory experience at a drop-in center for homeless women, a community residence for people with mental illness, and an outpatient drug treatment clinic.
Ms. Shorr holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Hunter College and is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
