She is a board-certified veterinary pathologist and holds a B.A. and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (V.M.D) from the University of Pennsylvania. Her pathology training was carried out at Harvard Medical School under a National Institutions of Health post-doctoral fellowship.
