LAPU-LAPU City Mayor Paz Radaza called the attention of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 7 after residents and building owners blamed asphalt-covered manholes for the flood on M.L. Quezon Highway last week.
said the DWPH 7 Sixth District Engineering Office, which recently covered the road with asphalt, fixed the problem two days after the flood last Oct. 1, which resulted from a three-hour downpour.
"So far, we haven't seen floods again since the asphalt covering the drains was removed," she
said in her
regular news conference yesterday.
said the City also plans to build cisterns in some flood-prone areas.
