Gov. Hilario Davide III, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza and Mayor Osmea gave their orders after the weather bureau raised public storm signal number one over Cebu at 11 a.m. yesterday.
Mayor Radaza of Lapu-Lapu suspended Monday's classes from pre-school to high school. She also asked the public to keep safe and be ready, according to a post on the City Government's Facebook page. In Cebu City's case, this is not the first time Osmea did not order the suspension of classes despite a typhoon warning since he assumed office last July.

LAPU-LAPU City Mayor Paz Radaza has asked the city's police director to transfer the cop, who allegedly threatened a journalist, outside Cebu Province.
"Ako maoy nitawag (ni Lapu-Lapu City Police Director Rommel Cabagnot). What I really want is for him to be transferred outside Cebu not just in Lapu-Lapu," Radaza said in an interview on Wednesday afternoon.

Lapu-Lapu Mayor Paz Radaza said they beefed up security inside the City Hall by adding security personnel and assigning employees in the government buildings to look for suspicious persons.
"We are assigning additional security in all corners of the City Hall main building," Radaza said. In a press conference, Radaza advised that if possible, people should stay at home during the long weekend. "Di lang kay magsuroy-suroy og maayo. Kung di necessary ang lakaw avoid nalang gyud (If it is not necessary, it is better that they should avoid public places)," said Radaza. Radaza assured that tourism activities in the City were not affected.

She also asked everyone to pray for the victims of the explosion in Davao. "Though we are away from the incident, with the ASG (Abu Sayyaf Group) claiming responsibility over it, I am advising everyone to avoid going into crowded areas right now and be vigilant all the time," Radaza added.
