In the evening of December 23, 2003, Polly, as she was referred to by her family, peacefully departed this life and went on to be with the Lord.Pauline
education in the elementary school system of Philadelphia.She
moved to Maryland at an early age and continued her
education in the, now historic, Hosanna School
of Berkley, MD.She
became a life long resident of Harford County.She joined Hosanna A.M.E. Church, where she became a faithful servant, and accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.Pauline began working out her souls' salvation in many different capacities.She served as a member of the Berkley Homemakers Club, a member of the Hosanna Stewards and Stewardess Board, a past president of the Willing Workers, an officer in the Hosanna A.M.E.C. Lay Organization, and a Past Worthy Matron of Electa Chapter #16 O.E.S.She
loved working in the church kitchen and meticulously dressing the church Pulpit for Holy Communion Service.She
church, and truly enjoyed good Gospel music.She
enjoyed praising the Lord in song so much that she
has become known to the members of Hosanna
as our "Honorary Hand-clapping
Throughout the years, Polly
has given guidance and motherly love to all of the young men and women in her
has been known by many titles - Granny, Mom-Pauline, and Granny-Paul, but all who knew her
came to call her
by either of these names with love and affection.She
is survived by four daughters; Bernice V. Glover, Martha P. Dew, of Darlington, MD, Alberta E. Waldon, of Abingdon, MD, and Betty J. Scott, of Aberdeen, MD; two sons; Gover D. Bond, Jr., of Elpaso, TX, William M. Bond, of Belcamp, MD; three sons-in-law, Robert W. Glover, Willie L. Dew, and Claude D. Waldon; one daughter-in-law, Lucina Bond; ten grand children, thirty great-grand children, one sister-in-law, Edna V. Prigg, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.Polly
had many close friends, and one special friend and neighbor, Hannah A. Gordon, who began their friendship 50 years ago when the Bond family moved to Holloway Road.
