In the evening of December 23, 2003, Polly, as she was referred to by her family, peacefully departed this life and went on to be with the Lord.Pauline received her education in the elementary school system of Philadelphia. She moved to Maryland at an early age and continued her education in the, now historic, Hosanna School of Berkley, MD.She became a life long resident of Harford County. She joined Hosanna A.M.E. Church, where she became a faithful servant, and accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.Pauline began working out her souls' salvation in many different capacities. She served as a member of the Berkley Homemakers Club, a member of the Hosanna Stewards and Stewardess Board, a past president of the Willing Workers, an officer in the Hosanna A.M.E.C. Lay Organization, and a Past Worthy Matron of Electa Chapter #16 O.E.S.She loved working in the church kitchen and meticulously dressing the church Pulpit for Holy Communion Service. She loved her church, and truly enjoyed good Gospel music. She enjoyed praising the Lord in song so much that she has become known to the members of Hosanna as our "Honorary Hand-clapping Chairman".Throughout the years, Polly has given guidance and motherly love to all of the young men and women in her neighborhood. She has been known by many titles - Granny, Mom-Pauline, and Granny-Paul, but all who knew her came to call her by either of these names with love and affection. She is survived by four daughters; Bernice V. Glover, Martha P. Dew, of Darlington, MD, Alberta E. Waldon, of Abingdon, MD, and Betty J. Scott, of Aberdeen, MD; two sons; Gover D. Bond, Jr., of Elpaso, TX, William M. Bond, of Belcamp, MD; three sons-in-law, Robert W. Glover, Willie L. Dew, and Claude D. Waldon; one daughter-in-law, Lucina Bond; ten grand children, thirty great-grand children, one sister-in-law, Edna V. Prigg, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.Polly had many close friends, and one special friend and neighbor, Hannah A. Gordon, who began their friendship 50 years ago when the Bond family moved to Holloway Road.
