Erie 2nd Ward District Judge Paul Urbaniak will reconvene a summary trial Jan. 19 on a citation the property owner was given May 1 for failure to repair or demolish structures as ordered.
The hearing opened Sept. 1 to address the nontraffic citation, in which city code enforcement officials charged that the property owner failed to comply with an order to demolish or shore up buildings on the more than 4-acre property that had been the scene of multiple fires.
The buildings are vacant and are a threat to public safety, and the property needs immediate attention, officials wrote on the citation.
Since Sept. 1, representatives of Erie-based Russell Security
and Investigations, which was hired by the owner to handle security at the site, have submitted several letters to Urbaniak
updating him on their progress.
