Paul Shaker is Executive Director and senior planner with the Centre for Community Study, an independent non-profit urban research firm.
Paul has over 12 years of experience in urban planning policy and research, community renewal and economic development.
has worked at both the federal and municipal levels.
In the federal government, Paul
held a number of positions across departments where he
advised on the links between federal policy and approaches to the revitalization and sustainability of cities.
At the municipal level, he
has worked in the City of Hamilton as a planner and advisor on municipal affairs, downtown renewal, creative industries and economic development.
Paul is also a principal with RethinkRenewal, a collaboration between planning and design professionals focusing on the renewal and revitalization of urban properties.
He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and he holds degrees from McGill University and the University of Guelph.
