Services will be held at 11 : 30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church
of the Living Christ in Madison , with the Rev. Daniel C. Kowert officiating.Interment of ashes with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Tigerton Cemetery in Tigerton with the Rev. Bob Barnes of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 : 30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church
of the Living Christ in Madison.
In lieu of flowers , contributions may be made to the organ fund of the Lutheran Church
of the Living Christ in Madison , the Mission Fund at St. Paul Lutheran Church
or other charitable organizations of the donor's choice.
was born May 4 , 1916 , in Cincinnati , Ohio , a son of the late Charles Vincent and Norma L. ( Erdmann ) Sanzone.He received a bachelor's degree from Sul Ross State University in Alpine , Texas , in 1939 and a master's degree in 1940
.He also attended Princeton University , Indiana University and Butler University
.After teaching two years in an elementary school in Edinburg , Texas , he enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1941
was married to Audrey J. Becker at Fort Sam Houston , Texas , on Dec. 21 , 1941.After 22 years of service in the army , he retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Finance Corps in July 1963
.In the service , he was also a training officer supervisor teaching illiterate soldiers how to read and write
had combat duty during World War II in Okinawa and later has assignments in Korea , Germany , Hawaii and various stations in the U.S..He was an instructor in data processing and economics in the business department at Sul Ross State University from June 1963 to June 1965
.He joined the faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as an assistant professor of economics in 1965 and remained a member for 18 years
.He was a pioneer in the installation of computer equipment at UW-SP , serving as the first director of data processing when an IBM 1401 computer was installed in January 1967
.In addition to being head of data processing , he
served as the UW-SP comptroller and assistant to the chancellor , Lee S. Dreyfus.He also served as a faculty adviser to various student groups
.He retired in 1983 as assistant professor emeritus of accounting in the department of business
After retiring , he
wife moved from Park Ridge to Bella Vista , Ark. , where they resided until 1995 when they moved to Madison.
Survivors include his
wife ; two daughters , Jeanette ( Bill ) Handrich , Amherst Junction , and Elaine Kelch ( Stephen E. Bablitch ) , Madison ; and three grandchildren.He
was also preceded in death by three brothers , Charles V. Sanzone Jr. , David Kelch and Ralph.
