anodizes - or colors - aluminum used primarily in the fragrance and cosmetics industries, but also for some automotive and light-industrial applications. The company, which employs 20 people, has spent about $4 million during the last three years to renovate its Main Street plant, DeCerbo
Among its larger undertakings, the company installed piping allowing it to take water it was already using for final rinse and use it earlier in the process for cooling as well. That will save an estimated 624,000 gallons of water annually. Philson
also installed a "condensate return tank" which recycles 100 percent of the condensation generated from the heating of production tanks and returns it to the boiler, saving about 468,000 gallons of water and 5,000 gallons of heating oil annually. It also made changes on its sealer line, using a sealer with a lower concentration of nickel.
