"Over the last decade, I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Danczyk on local ASPA issues and national ASPA issues. First, for ASPA Sacramento, Paul has ably served in numerous roles: Councilmember, Chapter President, and Past President. He is a key leader for our chapter. At the national level, Paul was elected as District V Representative in 2013. I have assisted him on a few assignments and can attest to his dedication. Paul made a special effort to reach out to all ASPA chapters in Region V, and he created quarterly webinars for everyone to interact. Last year and this year, Paul has belonged to the National Task Force on Membership and he chaired the Goal 3 Work Group. His findings and recommendations on membership are invaluable to ASPA's future. Paul has become a key leader for National ASPA, too."

Paul Danczyk

American Society for Public Administration
Vice President Candidate
Email sent to ASPA membership on November 2, 2015
Dear ASPA Colleague:
We are writing in support of Paul Danczyk, a candidate for Vice President of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). In our view, as ASPA Past Presidents, Paul combines the intellect and patience for this position-he also has a strong background in leadership. Please allow us the opportunity to expand.
There are certainly several noteworthy candidates running for this office this year. Among the various candidates, we believe Paul is distinguished by his long dedication to ASPA combined with his significant record of public service at the local, state, and national levels.
As you know, our organization faces difficult challenges with respect to its identity and its membership; this is the time in which fundamental changes need to be made in our organization. Paul is the one who has been in the trenches most recently and, thus, has the a good sense of the current issues facing ASPA, as well as having the leadership capacity to make significant and impact-driven changes to the organization.
Paul is currently the Director of Executive Education at University of Southern California's (USC) Sol Price School of Public Policy in Sacramento. In this role, he designs, delivers, and evaluates public-sector training programs, teaches graduate-level courses, and serves as an executive coach/mentor. Perhaps most important is the Executive Leadership Development Program that he offers to local managers in Los Angeles County. This program has already graduated over 150 public administration professionals and has received national awards for leadership development.
For ASPA, Paul is one of the National Council Representatives from District V and has also served in other significant capacities as well, including President of the Sacramento Chapter, which turns out to be one of the most active in the country, and former Chair of the Chapter/Section Task Force.
Having worked with Paul, we are convinced that his recent experience and his currency in the field give him an advantage in meeting his vision if elected Vice President of ASPA to expand its focus on public service, increase member participation, and foster collaborative growth. Again, Paul understands public service. He has the credentials and recent, important experience to address the most significant issues facing our organization. Paul has the leadership character to move ASPA forward during this challenging time of re-identification.
For ASPA to succeed we need new energy that builds off past successes and member expertise while making it a priority to create opportunities for new and younger members to chart the Society's future direction.
Join us, and the following members, in electing Paul for Vice President of ASPA:

In closing, we urge you to strongly consider voting for Paul as Vice President of ASPA. We feel that if afforded the opportunity, he will not serve as an effective leader for our organization but bridge the academic and practitioner gap that our field so deservingly needs.
