Promote Garner Committee founder Paul Capps presented a slogan and logo design intended to help endorse a positive image for the Town of Garner to the Town Board on Monday, June 6.

with an example of a design and slogan for the Town of Garner at the Town Board
meeting on Monday, June 6.
first approached the Board with the idea at their Planning Retreat at Wrightsville Beach in February.Since then, with the consent of the Town Board
has formed a committee of community members and local business men and women to help promote a positive image of the Town.Capps and Behringer wore white T-shirts bearing the name Garner in dark blue encircled by two gold "swish" designs and followed by the phrase "a great place to be" in black letters.
"We wanted to use Trojan colors," said Capps
of the new design that borrows team colors from Garner Senior High School
explained why he
was inspired to take on the Promote Garner challenge.
"We wanted to basically tell our story and promote Garner in a positive light," said Capps
."We are here by choice."
Capps also hopes the new slogan will "stimulate community pride" and inspire people to "take action and act in a cooperative effort to strengthen community support."
"The Town can't do it all," said Capps
