Because the school's condition is satisfactory, the only way to build a new south-side high school would be by finding another use for Rickards, said Paul Byrd, executive director of maintenance, facilities and construction for Leon County Schools.
"With the Castaldi giving us an opportunity to do something different, we'll consider that," Byrd
said."It'll be part of the debate of how we utilize resources."
Renovations for the gym and band and choral room could start as soon as this summer, but most of the work is expected to take place after the beginning of next year, Byrd
