The recall committee that forced former Tamarac Commissioner Patte Atkins-Grad out of office is now going to reward themselves for their efforts.
The group is meeting at a Tamarac clubhouse Saturday night to dine on $300 worth of desserts, fruit, cheese, wine, beer and soft drinks. And the leaders of the recall will give out certificates for "outstanding achievement" for their work. Atkins-Grad, under attack after she was acquitted of corruption charges last year, resigned in September on condition the city pay her $8,000 for her legal bills, which commissioners agreed to do. Her recall election had been scheduled for Oct. 15.
