Patrick Midgley was born at West Point, NY, and grew up in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area. As a child, Patrick studied martial arts. He also developed a deep appreciation for literature and the theatre. Patrick's first stage performance was as Harold Hill in The Music Man at age 13.

In high school, Patrick was a California State Finalist in Forensics and a dedicated rugby player. He received an academic scholarship to The College of Wooster, where be earned a BA in Theatre and History. After his junior year, Patrick was awarded a journalism scholarship from the Kennedy Center to study dramatic criticism at The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center.
The following fall, Patrick entered the Professional Actor Training at Purdue University. During his training, he worked professionally with The Children's Theatre Institute in Indianapolis, where he wrote and directed eight original plays for children, and with The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, where he earned his EMC Card. In addition to his class and production work, Patrick was awarded Purdue's Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award.
After completing his M.F.A. at Purdue, Patrick debuted with The American Shakespeare Center, playing Lucentio, Cassio, and Prince Hal, among other roles. He continues to refine his craft with a demanding work ethic and infectious enthusiasm.
