The notion of mixing career and noble pursuits is not new to Patrick. His first career was as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal (twice) and the Navy Achievement Medal for meritorious performance. His military experience also informed a management philosophy focused on clearly articulating a vision for success, and developing and empowering employees to succeed.
Following his naval service, Patrick attended law school and practiced law in both a large international and small regional law firm.

In this critical leadership position, he also helps Monster establish and maintain open lines of communication with local, state, and federal law enforcement organizations and intelligence-gathering agencies, leading to better detection, recovery and prevention of fraud.
