Patrick BakerPatrick Baker is the Executive Director of Great Lakes Fabricators and Erectors Association (GLFEA), located in Southfield (Metropolitan Detroit), Michigan where his chief duties involve the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements on behalf of member firms and other signatory contractors; serving on various Taft Hartley funds and local and national industry boards; and promoting the advantages of union construction with steel.Since 2008 (until his recent move to GLFEA), Mr. Baker served as Director of Labor Relations and Government Affairs for the Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) in Bloomfield Hills providing Labor Relations for over 400 contractors, signatory to collective bargaining agreements with Carpenters, Laborers, Operating Engineers and Cement Masons.In this capacity, Mr. Baker also served as trustee on various Taft Hartley and Labor Management funds as well as construction industry boards, including M.U.S.T.Additionally, Mr. Baker served as the Director of Government Affairs for CAM's over 2,500 members.Prior to his work with CAM, Patrick worked in various offices of state and federal government, including the Michigan House of Representatives, Michigan Senate, Office of Governor Engler - Legal Division.Appointed by Governor Granholm, Mr. Baker serves on the Division on Deaf and Hard of Hearing Advisory Board for Governor Snyder.Mr. Baker holds degrees in Political Science (B.A., Franciscan University of Steubenville - Ohio 1990), Theology (M.A., Catechetics, Gannon University - Erie Pennsylvania 1992) and Law (J.D., Thomas Cooley Law School - Lansing, Michigan 1996) graduating Cum Laude.
