Commander Patricia L. BeckmanCommander Patricia L. "Trish" Beckman, retired from the U.S. Navy on 01 January 1999 following 28 years of service.
Since retirement, she
has supported F/A-18 flight test at China Lake, California, and B-52H and B-1B flight test at Edwards Air Force Base, California.She is currently employed as a Flight Test Navigator, Systems Operator, and Flight Dispatcher by Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, Seattle, WA. During her Navy career, she accumulated more than 3300 hours in 66 aircraft types, graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School and later became an instructor there. Trish holds a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University and a M.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.She has had the opportunity to be the first woman trained and qualified as a flight crewmember in the F-15E, and is the first American woman to be qualified as a flight crewmember in the F/A-18. Trish is a founding Board member of Women in Aviation, International, and serves on the Board and as Chair of the WAI Pioneer Hall of Fame.She is also currently President of Women Military Aviators, Inc.
