Pat FunderburgENCOREplus DirectorPat
has been employed in social service and public agencies during most of her
career and has been active in women's and minority health issues for over 20 years.She is currently the Associate Director of the YWCA ENCOREplus Program.Pat has served on committees, coalitions and assisted in conference planning for ODH women's health month activities, the American Heart Association, Ohio Coalition on Sexual Assault (OCOSA), Women of Color Institute, the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer, All Women, One Cause, the Breast Education, Screening and Treatment (B.E.S.T.) Committee, African American Communities for Optimum Health, the Columbus Black Women's Health Project, and the Columbus Health Department's Cardiovascular Health Coalition and Community Health Resource Steering Committee and many others. Pat
is also active in fitness and has taught exercise classes and lectured on physical activity and health for many years.Her
fitness background includes certifications and training through national exercise associations.She is founder of Pat Funderburg's Exercise to Afro-Rhythms.She
created the program to help address cardiovascular health issues in the African American community.Pat attended Albertus Magnus College (major liberal arts) in New Haven, Connecticut and Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio (major Sports and Fitness Management).
