is delighted with the way her
business is set up.
Eleven years ago, she
husband, Pete, moved their company, Delfico Advertising Agency
, from its commercial location into their ranch home in Fishkill, in the process converting an enclosed porch into their company's base of operations. Not only is the space dedicated solely to the business, but it also has its own entrance at the back of the house, giving visiting clients access to the office without their having to walk through the Delficos' residence to get there.
"When we started (working from home) we were down in the basement, but it certainly wasn't conducive to having people come in," said Delfico
, who sees four or so clients per week at her
home office."Now it's not a problem at all."
The Delficos' arrangement also works well for her
residential neighborhood, for their operation is quiet, clients park in the driveway and deliveries are made through a back office door, where the Delficos have their company sign.A part-time secretary helps out and the Delficos are careful to keep all their business-related insurance, taxes and legalities separate from those having to do with their residence.
"I have an ideal setup," Delfico
