Born on Dec. 16, 1908, in Westerly, a son of the late Pasquale and Sarafina (Rocco) DeBernardo, he moved to Connecticut years ago.Mr. DeBernardo had been a master carpenter and master machnist at the American Velvet Co., Stonington, Conn., before retiring in the early 1970s.He was a former member of the Westerly Lodge of Elks, BPOE 678, and a former member of the Calabrese Society in Westerly.He had also been a member of the United Textile Workers Union.Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Pasquale DeBernardo of Richmond and Richard DeBernardo of Mystic, Conn., and four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.He was a brother of the late Louis DeBernardo, Mary Castagna, Frances Colechia and Josephine Broccolo.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck.
