Bill had studied under Metropolitan Opera soprano Rita Shane, Tri-Cities Opera founders Peyton Hibbitt and Carmen Savoca, and Mohawk Valley Opera founder Pasquale Caputo.
Bill passed along to me the classic bel canto technique he'd learned from Pasquale
, who in turn had learned it from Maestro Luigi Cremesini at the Conservatoria Instituto
in Florence, who in turn had learned it from a long line of teachers stretching back to Nicola Vaccai in the early 1800s.
During my four years with Bill I also had the opportunity to study with Pasquale
and Rita, both in private lessons and master classes.
