, Councilwoman Greene has worked closely with the business community, the educational community, local chambers of commerce, neighborhood groups and youth organizations.She serves as the liaison Councilperson to the Planning Department, the Economic Development Department and is a member of both the Industrial Development Agency, and the Community Development Agency. Councilwoman Greene serves as an active volunteer for a number of non-profit organizations, including Literacy Suffolk, where she held the post of Vice President for two years; the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, where she is Chair of the Honorary Board; and Keep Islip Clean, a volunteer organization dedicated to education, awareness and community improvement.Her
commitment to Literacy earned her
an appointment to the Suffolk County Executive's Task Force on Literacy
.She is a member of the National Women's Political Caucus and the National Organization for Women.
Councilwoman Greene graduated from Babylon Jr.-Sr.High School in 1980, received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics at the State University of New York at Geneseo
and earned her
Law Degree from Touro Law Center
in Huntington.She is a practicing attorney with an office in Central Islip.She is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, an officer on the Executive Board for the Suffolk County Women's Bar Association.She has been an adjunct professor at both Suffolk County Community College and Dowling College teaching courses in government, business and law.
