Redwood City, CA - June 17, 2010 - The City Council of Redwood City is pleased to announce the hiring of a new City Attorney, Ms. Pamela Thompson, who currently serves as City Attorney for the City of San Bruno.
will begin work in Redwood City on August 4th, 2010.
Ms. Thompson has worked for San Bruno for the last eight years, and also served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Francisco for seven years.

While in San Bruno
, Ms. Thompson
skills in municipal law on a variety of key issues including land use and planning, public contracting, the Brown Act, employment law, and many other areas.
Having served as an employment litigator with the City of San Francisco
, an associate with a private law firm, and a prosecutor in the New Orleans District Attorney's office, Ms. Thompson
brings an abundance of experience and leadership to Redwood City.

was at the top of the list of extremely qualified candidates.
Ms. Thompson replaces the City's former City Attorney, Mr. Stan Yamamoto, who left the City last January to accept a position with the Santa Clara Valley Water District.
