In order to get the food items donated at the Avon Kroger store, she
said the pantry would have to buy it back at 14 cents a pound.
Donations from the Kroger store here are now going directly to the Light and Life food pantry, Schafer
said the pantry, which is open to all Hendricks County residents, served 181 people on Monday and is expected to serve more than 7,000 by the end of the year.

pantry's most needed items are meat, paper or personal care products that cannot be purchased with food stamps, dry staples, cereal, canned fruit, oatmeal, soup, fruit/granola bars, canned vegetables, snack sized items for children's lunch boxes, and canned beans.
