In 1993 he joined the Faculty's staff and decided to devote himself to research, later heading the Salivary Glands Molecular Medicine Laboratory. Professor Palmon's previous Faculty roles include chairman of the Academic Development Committee, chairman of the Faculty Search & Appointment Committee, chairman of the Research Committee, and chairman of the Graduate Program in Bio-Medical Dental Sciences. Named to the Rector's List for excellence in teaching several times, Professor Palmon recently won the Milken Award for outstanding initiatives in teaching. He has published more than 60 research articles, received awards and won numerous research grants, and is associate editor of the Journal of Oral Diseases. Professor Palmon is married to Sarit, a graduate of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and a specialist in prosthodontics.
