Electrophysiologist Opesanmi Esan, M.D., has joined MidMichigan Physicians Group as the newest member of the heart and vascular team at MidMichigan Health.
In addition to electrophysiologists, this comprehensive team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, as well as vascular, thoracic and cardiovascular surgeons.

Together this experienced electrophysiology team uses specialized equipment to diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients with atrial fibrillation and other electrical heart rhythm disorders.

in Brooklyn, N.Y. While at SUNY Downstate, he
also completed fellowships in cardiology and clinical electrophysiology.
In addition to his fellowship training, he is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine and nuclear cardiology.
He received his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos in Nigeria.

first year in residency.

stepped foot into the electrophysiology lab, he
became fascinated with this aspect of cardiovascular medicine.

As an electrophysiologist, Dr. Esan specializes in ablation techniques, treatment of atrial fibrillation, the implantation of cardiac defibrillator devices and cardiac resynchronization therapy.
