Holy Infant Catholic Church: Home: Anointing of the Sick ... Touched by the Spirit
Our January HI-life focus is on healing and anointing of the sick. Our guest presenter at this Gathering is Olivia Woodford. For more than a decade Olivia Woodford has performed one-woman plays portraying various women in the Bible and has led retreats at churches and schools of all denominations throughout the country. The plays are universal in their appeal and communicate the heart of Jesus' life and teachings. Scripture comes to life through her powerful dramas. Holy Infant has hosted her inspiring dramatic performances on three occasions over the last few years, which were received with great acclaim. At our January HI-life Gathering she will portray Simon Peter's mother-in-law. Olivia is a professional actress/director and founder of Healing Theatre. She has a BFA in theatre from Boston University and has performed in regional and off Broadway theatres. She has taught theatre in public and private schools, and to people of all ages. Olivia is the Director of Health Arts Network at Duke and is a theatre artist, dedicated to bringing the sacred into people's lives.

"That's the idea," said Olivia Woodford, the director of the Health Arts Network at Duke, which is hosting the exhibit of "The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss."
Woodford saw a man chatting at the conference. She saw the man again at a gallery the next day. "At HAND, we look at ways to alleviate stress, because we know that your mood can affect your health," Woodford said. Woodford, a Seuss fan herself, particularly likes the mounted -- actually, sculpted -- animal heads, a whimsical play on hunting trophies. But really, she likes everything in the exhibit. "It brings humor, lightness, play to the hospital," she said.
