was born on Feb. 27, 1910, to John and Beatrice (Ross) Johnson
.He attended Douglass School in Parsons.During World War II, he served in the United States Army.He had been employed by the Katy Railroad, Hammett Motors, the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, the Labette County Highway Department and Parsons USD 503, from which he retired in 1967.
On Dec. 23, 1934, he
married Gladys Cullom of Parsons.She
preceded him in death on Aug. 25, 1983.He was a member of Watson Memorial Church of God in Christ.His
hobbies included fishing, baseball and spending time with his
family and friends.
Johnson of Decatur, Ga.; 18 grandchildren, Tommy L. Johnson and Kimberly L. Johnson (who were raised by Norman), Kelvin and Crystal Johnson, Kirkland Johnson, Michael Johnson, Keisha Johnson, Dontae Johnson and Devery Johnson, all of Parsons, Larry E. Johnson and his wife, Pat, of Carthage, Mo., William E. "Bill" and Zenda Johnson of Texas, Esta Lina Mosby of Coffeyville, Yvette Hinton, Reneé Gilmore and André and Penny Gilmore, all of Detroit, and Regina Mincy of Decatur, Ga.; 45 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Warren and Thelma Hogan, both of Parsons.
