An official announcement is expected ..., 9 July 2014 [cached]
An official announcement is expected within this week, with the source claiming the changes involving multi-titled coaches Norman Black, Ryan Gregorio and Jong Uichico have been green-lighted by Pangilinan.
The source, who requested anonymity, said Uichico will now handle TNT while Black will move to the Bolts in lieu of Gregorio, who has reportedly decided to forego coaching and concentrate on his corporate responsibilities a Meralco.
Uichico and Black have a tough job cut out for them.
Sandy Arespacochaga, one of Black's assistant coaches at TNT, will move to NLEX as one Boyet Fernandez's deputies while assistant coach Jamike Jarin will join Black at Meralco.
WYD: NORMAN ..., 30 May 2014 [cached]
The Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and their coach, Norman Black, proved to be the winning combination in the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 73 Senior Men's Basketball Division. On September 30, under Black's guidance, the Ateneo Blue Eagles bagged a three-peat record. Black, who was a coach in the Philippine Basketball Association before going collegiate, started the Eagles' winning streak in Season 71 when his team defeated their rival the De La Salle Green Archers in Game 2 of the 2008 finals series. The Ateneo Blue Eagles were poised for a historical three-peat in the UAAP.

Ateneo head coach Norman Black sent in his First Five, Co-captains Al-Hussaini, Jose Antonio Reyes (IV BS MCT), and Siverino Baclao Jr. (IV AB IS) with Salamat and the surprise addition of Raymond Leonard Austria (III AB Eco).
With eight and a half minutes still to go in the second, coach Black sent in his shock troopers, giving his starters a well-deserved rest.
Coach Norman Black was all praises for Reyes, adding that the team was trying their best to support him after his family's ordeal.
When asked about UE Warrior Paul Lee's 15-point output, Black simply said: "We're not going to stop Paul Lee, we're just going to control him." Al-Hussaini, for his part, praised Reyes' efforts, especially because the rather diminutive guard sat out most of the first half due to foul trouble. On his 28-point, 14-rebound effort: "Naisip ko lang na last year ko na kaya kailangan mag step-up," he said with a shrug.
Coaches Arespacochaga and Gene Afable were conducting traffic in and out of the area, while coach Black also passed by to show support.

"We expect a very intense semifinal series versus Rain or Shine," said TNT coach Norman Black.
The E-Painters may go into the match feeling weary but Black is not about to pounce on that. "The important thing is for us to match or surpass their energy and aggressiveness," he said.
Paul Lee has been chiefly providing Chism the big support with almost 14 points, close to five rebounds and 3.0 assists in the quarterfinals, prompting Black to include him in his look-out list.
"Major concerns are Chism, who played very well in their quarterfinal series, Paul Lee, who has been their best player, and (Ryan) Arana, who has been attacking the basket lately," said Black.
"From our end we just want to continue to play at a high level, especially on the defensive end," said Black.
HISTORY beckons for coach Norman ..., 9 May 2014 [cached]
HISTORY beckons for coach Norman Black and the TNT Tropang Texters, who just need three more straight victories to become the first team to complete a conference sweep.
Black, Cone and some of their players came face-to-face yesterday in the pre-finals press conference, with both coaches stressing the need to go hard in Game 1.
"Winning Game 1 is always an advantage, to get the other team behind the 8-ball from the start," said Black, who was accompanied by Jayson Castro, Ranidel de Ocampo, Jimmy Alapag, Ryan Reyes, Richard Howell and league vice-chairman Patrick Gregorio.
Black and the undefeated Tropang Texters are eyeing a three-game sweep of the duel that will give them the distinction of being the only team in the league's 39-year history to pull off a perfect conference.
We know San Mig is a tough team with tough players, but that's our goal," stressed Black.
