Senator Nisar Memon of Pakistan Muslim League-Q said the government should impose economic sanctions on India by halting all kinds of trade and also disallow Indian exports to Afghanistan via Pakistan.
He said India should be reminded that Pakistan was a responsible nuclear state and its desire for peace should not be construed as a sign of weakness.
He said the Senate should pass a resolution urging the government to order the armed forces to immediately respond to any violation of the country's borders and airspace.
Senator Memon said India had already violated Pakistan's airspace and launched a diplomatic war. He also advised the government to start civil defence preparations.

Islamabad, Aug 30 : The Americans harbour designs of breaking up Pakistan said Senator Nisar A. Memon of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q.
Memon, while referring to a research report by Professor Michel Chossudovsky of the Global Research Canada said that the recent regime change would be followed by a deliberate political impasse.
According to Dawn, Memon quoted the report as saying that chaos and anarchy would be created through economic disruption, which would enable International Monetary Fund (IMF) to take Pakistan in its grip.
The report alleged that the ongoing turmoil in Balochistan was part of a strategy to finally separate the province as 'Greater Balochistan' and British intelligence agencies were involved in it.
Memon also claimed that sound institutions like Inter-Services Intelligence would be made inactive and other such organizations would suffer the same fate.

Pakistan Muslim League additional secretary-general Senator Nisar A. Memon opposed the operation and emphasised a path to dialogue should be adopted in light of the recommendations of parliamentary committee on Balochistan.
Nisar Memon said foreign elements were operating inside Pakistan and added the military action must focus on such elements and locals should not suffer in any way.He rejected the opposition's remarks against the army being involved in violence and said President Musharraf wanted a political solution to problems in Waziristan and Balochistan.
